A Little Something Special
Published by Jenny January 17th, 2007 in FamilyFor those of you who like to plan ahead, we wanted to let you know that 210 days from today we expect to announce a little something special - the name of our new baby! Yep! Olivia is going to be a big sister around August 15, 2007. That makes us 10 weeks pregnant (and for those doing the math, that makes the kids 20 months apart). We’ve had two chances to see the new baby on camera already. Once on Dec. 15th to verify s/he was in the right place and again on Jan. 5th to see the heartbeat! It was such a relief to pass those two milestones and we thank God for the opportunity to experience the joy of pregnancy again. I’ve been feeling pretty good, although I’ve had to stock up on Saltines & 7-Up this time around and add an every-other-day nap to my schedule. We plan to find out if Olivia’s getting a little brother or sister when the time comes (at 20 weeks - in late March), so we’ll let you know that and keep you updated on any other developments.
For your reading pleasure, here’s a little more on Baby’s development - there’s always so much to report on in these early weeks:
"Though she’s barely the size of a kumquat - just an inch or so long, crown to bottom - and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, she has completed the most critical portion of her development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in her body grow and mature rapidly. During the next three weeks, your baby’s length will more than double to nearly 3 inches. Each day, more minute details - including tiny fingernails, toenails, and peach-fuzz hair - start to appear on her body."

Can’t wait for the new baby, but remember to enjoy getting to his or her birthday! Abby will have many words of wisdom for Olivia as a big sister!

What a miracle and a blessing! We can’t wait to meet our new grandchild–we are so fortunate to have the technology that allows us to see him/her early! Good thing Olivia got a baby doll for her birthday so she can practice!

Congrats on this new little life! It’s amazing, the way that God created us, to grow from two little cells into a seven pound, foot-and-a-half long child in only nine months! Hope that you continue to feel well and enjoy the glimpses into your womb via ultrasound–what a treat! Thank you for sharing that with us!

We are happy to see that all is well with the Andrews family. We really regret not being able to see you in Lincoln at Christmas time, but we have hope that we will get another chance soon. We will be keeping and eye on your website for the latest developments and picures.
