Happy Birthday, 1LT Nathan Kane!!

Please join me in wishing my brother, Nathan, a very happy birthday today. He is serving our country with the 734th Transportation Battalion in Iraq and has almost completed his tour of duty. I’m sure it’s difficult to spend a special day like your birthday in a most un-ideal setting far from your family and friends so I thought he’d enjoy hearing from some of them. Please add a comment and let’s show him how much we’re all thinking of him today!

Lord, please bless the troops, bring Nathan home safely, and provide lasting peace to the people of Iraq. And bless Nathan, especially on his birthday, with the knowledge that he has made us proud, that we love him and we miss him.

Your turn!

    Dear Nathan,

We’re thinking of you today! Happy Birthday! (I think you picked the wrong place to be on the summer solstice for your birthday)

I hope you get a chance to do a little something extra for yourself. Go get that favorite drink you like — eat that special food you’ve been saving for a special day — just do everything one step better for yourself.

We love you very much and can’t wait to have you home safe and sound. Congrats on your new job! HH

Buddy or I should say 1LT Buddy I am being very sentimental about my Father’s Day present 26 years ago today, and it’s still the best, nothing else compares. My birthday present for you today is my everlasting love for you from father to son, as well as my admiration and respect for you as a father yourself, a husband, a son, and a friend to so many people. God Bless you on your special day and yer old man will "hoist" one for you. Happy Birthday, Dad

Dear Nathan–I turned on my computer intending to send a birthday message and saw that Jenny had set this up. Good idea, Jenny! Many people are thinking of you today, Nathan. I, too, wish it were under better circumstances, but we’ll just have to celebrate even more when you get home. I pray that the time will go fast and you’ll soon be home safe and sound. Lots of love, G’ma

To all of you that have sent me an encouraging word, thank you. It makes my job so much easier knowing I have the love and support of those back home. I was feeling a little down earlier because my birthday wasn’t anything special, but this brightened my day. Thank you all and God bless.

Nathan, I had noticed that Marge had sent a note from us but thought I would write one also. Thanks for being there for us and we’ll be keeping you in our prayers for your safe return home. We are getting alittle warmer on this longest day of the year but probably nothing that compares to your temps and conditions. Happy Birthday! Sure glad you got your looks from your MOM!!! We don’t need another one like your DAD around!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (gotcha MIKE!!!) Take care, Craig

Well I bought you a card and got your address, but unfortunately, I lost the card and had to try to find your address again. I will be sending it, but it will be just a little late! Now if it were on time, you know it would not be from me! :)
Hope you had a great birthday or at least made the most of it! Know that you are loved and prayed for each day!
your not favorite aunt (cause I haven’t sent a birthday card yet)

    Nathan,

I met you at Jenny’s wedding when we were both members of the wedding party, but that was a long time ago. I am a friend of Jenny’s from college. I just wanted to say “Happy Birthday” and thank you very much for your service to our country especially over the past year. I know it is hard on you being away from Trish & Morgan and very hard on Trish to be apart from you for so long. Thank you Nathan, Trish & Morgan for your selfless gift to protect our freedom! I don’t think you military members and families can hear that often enough. We will continue to pray for your safe return!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY and thank you again!

Hey ~ A birthday on summer solstace - how lucky can ye be? Hope you’ve had a great one!
Jonny and I are making the leap to try to move to a bigger place. We put our current house on the market the end of this month. It’s been crazy trying to keep the place clean with two kiddos and pack to move out. We are moving in with my sister (who purchased my parents house) while we put our house on the market. We’ll see what happens. The great news is that my parents live nearby and have a pool in their complex - I’ll try to be there as much as possible!
Jonny is out tonight, jamming with friends. I got him a ukulele for Father’s day. I’ll persuade him to bring it to Christmas as he’s really good at it already and it’s such a nice sound, reminding you of beaches and coconut trees.
Xander is getting so big - three now. A lot of fun. Breanna is also doing wonderfully but going through the teething phase. No fun. All in all, everyone is very happy and healthy - what more can you ask for?
Stay safe, over there. Looking forward to your safe return and spending the holidays together.
    Love and hugs,

    Adi and clan

Best wishes for what most likely was “just another day” in the Sandbox. On the brighter side, that makes it one day closer to getting in that last convoy that’s heading for home. Hoping to see you soon, either in the desert or back in the states.

  17. 17 Rachel - Big Sis

I sent you something else but couldn’t resist adding on to all the good wishes. I love you and can’t wait for you to return home. I’m saving my first beer after pregnancy to share it with you when you get home. So hurry up and get home:) I could really use a beer. It’s been 11 months since I had one!

Hi Nathan, As usual, I am a day late and a dollar short. I hope you had a more or less relaxing day for your birthday. The days are counting down now which is something to cheer about. I think you will really like Fort Lewis, WA. We visited Erik when he was stationed there before going over with Desert Storm and I fell in love with the west coast all over again. It was great that you were able to be home when Addison was born and Jenny was home. I just got back from Nebraska and I have to say Morgan is a beautiful baby and so happy. God Bless you and be with you and all of the other men and women who are fighting for a terrorist-free world. G
